By popular demand, the New CASV-ELX! This is the CASV-EL handguard, but without the full five-piece rail kit. VLTOR received a lot of feedback from people that wanted the simplicity of the CASV, the fact that it is not covered with rails, and wanted to buy the CASV-EL without the standard rail kit. So here it is: The time proven CASV-EL Handguard and one 2" rail, for the discerning minimalist.
The VLTOR CASV-ELX chassis is made entirely of aluminum with exception to the stainless steel mounting hardware. Creates a true flat top AR from back to front with no drop off or spaces between receiver and forend. Includes different size picatinny rails that can be added, removed or moved around to attach your specific tactical accessory so no need to carry around extra weight or rail space not being used. This "piggy-back" mounted handguard system has a removable lower handguard which allows the mounting of an M203 grenade launcher. After mounted, the CASV adds less than 1lb to the firearm's overall weight.
The CASV-EL Handguard, specifically developed for the US Navy E.O.D. Groups (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), the CASV has become a battle proven, rigid mounting platform, respected by its end users. The Model that the Navy Bomb Squad uses is the CASV-ELT (Extended Length), in the color Flat Dark Earth.
The CASV-EL is one of the simplest rail systems to install, and doesn’t requires any special installation tools. Each handguard assembly has a rigid, continuous rail section along the top, and comes with a removable lower shield and removable rail sections that allow the user to install rail sections where needed.
The CASV-EL fits all M4 style carbines with a flat-top receiver and a carbine-length gas system. The CASV-EL system will not work with Mid-length or Rifle length gas systems.
The installation of this handguard does not require any modifications to the firearm except for the removal of the sight tower sling swivel (if your carbine is equipped with one).
